Listening & Visioning
Through the insight of chapter members and the work of the 2017 board members, AFP-MN has an updated vision & strategic framework.
An important tenant of the process was to ensure the voices of chapter members were heard. The board wanted to know what the members thought was going well, what issues the members wanted addressed, and we wanted to hear your vision for the chapter. So we listened! Members shared their opinions through many means: 1:1 conversations, online surveys to current & past members, call-in listening sessions, committee meetings, at education sessions, and even at happy hours!
In addition to the voice of members, the board explored the five year history of multiple aspects of our chapter: membership, chapter finances, National Philanthropy Day, engagement in education sessions, equity & inclusion strategies, communications with membership, and exploring public policy.
Armed with all this knowledge, the board members took a half day in September to lay out a vision for the chapter. The resulting work was presented at the chapter Annual Meeting in October.
As a board, we are now aligning the work of the committees to the plan. And we are committed to ensuring you stay informed and engaged in the good work of the strategic framework. Please find the framework below.
