Working in Sierra Leone, OneVillage Partners’ mission is to catalyze community-led transformation. We partner with rural communities to develop sustainable solutions to their most pressing self-identified challenges. Our programs empower volunteer-leaders to effectively address these challenges and create new opportunities for women’s economic empowerment. Using a participatory model and picture-based tools, we train volunteer-leaders to act as change agents, mobilizing their communities to collectively identify long-term goals and collaborate to achieve them. We accomplish this work through programs that build capacity, with a particular focus on inclusive leadership, women and gender equity, social cohesion, and long-term resiliency.

OneVillage Partners seeks a Development Officer to support the organization’s fundraising activities and strategies. This position is full-time, benefits eligible, and based out of OneVillage Partners’ Minneapolis office (due to COVID-19, Minneapolis-based staff are currently working from home). As a member of the Development Team and reporting to the Development Director, the Development Officer will play a key role in fundraising and awareness-raising with our midlevel donors. Responsibilities

Donor Portfolio Management – 70%

• Manage a portfolio of approx. 200 midlevel donors ($250 - $999 annually) to build stronger relationships, deepen their engagement with the organization, and increase their annual giving
• Successfully solicit donors through face to face asks (when safely possible) and written proposals for annual gifts and/or specific program funding
• Conduct ongoing cultivation and stewardship practices to recognize donors, including scheduled gift thank you calls, mailing stewardship pieces, and periodically sharing program stories and updates
• Cultivate and steward donors to better understand the donors’ interests and capacity and proactively match them to funding opportunities with the organization that align with their philanthropic goals
• Utilize Raiser’s Edge NXT to manage donor relationships, track donor activity and interactions, create and implement donor-specific strategies, and analyze data to inform and prioritize individual giving strategies
• Participate in ongoing portfolio review to determine the midlevel portfolio and major gifts pipeline
• Participate in other fundraising activities as directed by the Development Director to meet fundraising goals

Events Management – 30%
• Lead the coordination, execution, and follow up of donor stewardship and recognition events (virtual town halls, virtual trivia, in person / virtual fundraisers)
• Lead the coordination, execution, and follow up of donor acquisition and point of entry events (house parties, lunch and learns)
• Solicit event sponsorships from sponsorship pipeline and work with event committees to identify sponsorship prospects and set solicitation plans
• Develop and implement strategies and activities to further engage and retain donors acquired via events
• Collaborate with Development Committee and event committees on event strategy development and implementation

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experiences as a fundraiser, preferably as a portfolio manager
• Ability to execute strategies to achieve development revenue goals
• Knowledge of solicitation and management of charitable gifts
• Experience in coordinating and managing fundraising and awareness-raising events
• Demonstrated success partnering with board members and committee volunteers to achieve fundraising goals
• Fundraising experience for international causes preferred
• Raiser’s Edge NXT experience preferred
