Salary Range: $66,000/per year

About the Position:
The Institutional Giving Officer leads the effort to build meaningful partnerships and gain vital funding from corporations, foundations, and community groups. They will work with the Development Director to create annual goals and strategies for raising institutional support, while following the Community Centric Fundraising principles.

Responsibilities for Institutional Giving Officer:
  • Research new and existing corporate and foundation funders through news sources, online tools, networking, and conferences
  • Create annual cultivation strategy for engaging new donors and maintaining relationships with current donors
  • Build relationships through one-to-one meetings, communications, information sharing, and acknowledgements
  • Compose effective, professional grant applications that accurately describe the organization’s work and the fit between organization and funder
  • Submit proposals and required reports in a timely manner
  • Coordinate site visits, including preparing summaries for attendees, holding preparatory meetings, and facilitating the visits
  • Cultivate relationships with potential and existing sponsors throughout the year
  • Hold one-on-one meetings with potential and existing sponsors to understand their needs and explain our opportunities
  • Submit effective, professional sponsorship proposals in a timely manner
  • Work closely with team members to meet overall development goals
  • Build relationships across teams that inform funding needs

Qualifications for Institutional Giving Officer:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Journalism or related field
  • Experience in grant writing, communications or legal roles highly preferred
  • Knowledge of institutional, corporate, and sponsorship funding processes
  • Superior research, writing, and presentation skills
  • Confident in public speaking and meeting facilitation
  • Dedication to representing our guests and clients with respect and dignity
  • Ability to analyze and use data and metrics to shape goals, strategies and tactics
  • Exceptional organization and relationship building skills
