JOB SUMMARY
The Leadership Giving Officer manages a portfolio of 150+ leadership giving level donors and prospects through prospect identification, qualification, strategy, development, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement and stewardship. Primary responsibility is to increase average annual giving by and number of individual donors in the $1,000 - $10,000 range. This job is externally focused with expectation that the majority of time will be spent making prospect/donor calls and visits.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build relationships with prospects and donors capable of making leadership ($1,000+) gifts to effectively present the case for philanthropic support to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to achieve annual fundraising goals and position the organization for future success.
  • Create goals and execute strategy for portfolio to drive growth in both number of donors and increased average gifts.
  • Develop and implement strategy for each prospect/donor in portfolio to increase overall giving levels, secure annual gifts and multi-year campaign pledges in accordance with the organizational strategic plan.
  • Develop and implement strategy for leadership giving donor discovery process, including focus on a highly connected donor list. Make discovery qualification calls and personal visits.
  • In collaboration with fundraising Gift Team, advance strategies to diversify our community support and increase our outreach to new donors.
  • Proactively identify and coordinate leadership giving society stewardship communications. Lead post-event donor stewardship including scripting messaging and organizing relevant lists.
  • Participate in leadership related event and communication strategy. As appropriate, lead cultivation and stewardship events and programs for leadership giving prospects and current leadership level donors.
  • Function as part of multi-staff Gift Team working with other development staff to identify prospects, develop cultivation plans and strategize giving opportunities.
  • Complete targeted number of meaningful contacts and face-to-face visits each week.
  • Track and document all cultivation and solicitation activities through Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Maintain currency and fluency on key organizational goals and programs to help define and advance cultivation and solicitation efforts with assigned prospects and donors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • BA/BS degree preferred, 4+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree

Experience:
  • Proven track record of prospect management and portfolio management, implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies, fundraising results and donor stewardship.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with individual donors and constituents.
  • Flexible and responsive to accommodate change.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a CRM system such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.
  • Affinity with the mission, vision, and goals of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work at a desk, computer or phone for extended periods of time
  • Physical dexterity (unassisted lifting and moving of up to 20 pounds)
  • Able to independently operate a motor vehicle

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Position involves travel within the seven-county metro area and includes occasional evening and weekend activities and events.
  • Most of the work is performed in an office environment with some off-site work, both indoor and outdoor.

COMPENSATION
$60,000- $62,500 annually dependent on qualifications and experience. Exempt, salaried position with excellent benefit package.
