Salary Range: Midpoint: $29.75

SUMMARY:
The Development Associate provides critical support to the Development Team, providing the overall administrative coordination needed to support a high-impact fundraising program. Assists in all efforts and initiatives to engage, steward, and track major gift prospects and donors. Includes creating and executing stewardship plans, supporting the department’s detailed, consistent, and accurate record-keeping, assisting in researching and writing proposals, reports, and otherwise collaborating with front-line fundraisers and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide staff support to the Major Gift Development team in all aspects of planning and executing cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Work closely with members of the Major Gift Development team to produce proposals, reports, letters, and other materials as needed
  • Work closely with members of the Major Gift Development team to assist them in actively monitoring, updating, and managing prospect information for constituents in their portfolios in line with current policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Assist in donor engagement strategy as appropriate, communicating with donors in a timely, courteous, and confidential manner
  • Facilitate and manage administration of in-person and virtual meetings as needed
  • Serve on administrative and cross-departmental teams and task forces as appointed, including tending to basic office management needs, ie. phone answering, receiving guests, etc
  • Coordinate with database-related teams, support training and project management needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • And/or 2-3 years of relevant work experience in business development or fundraising

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience utilizing technology to engage an audience
  • Database management experience – Raiser’s Edge preferred

  • Consistent and steady performer who can manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and ethics related to development activities
  • Ability to work on-site and occasional weekend and evening hours
