Salary Range: $40,000 - $43,000

Join Northern Star Scouting and continue building your skills as a Full-time Development Assistant. You will provide exceptional administrative support to the council's Assistant Director of Development and other staff, and interact frequently with donors, volunteers, and your team members. The position is based at Base Camp on the Fort Snelling campus near the MSP Airport.

This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a starting annual pay range of $40,000 - $43,000, DOQ. The weekly schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities
  • Primary support to the annual fundraising campaign, workplace giving processing, golf tournament and donor stewardship communications.
  • Use of prospect/donor database systems, preparation of thank you letters, pledge reminders, campaign reports, conducting prospect/donor research.
  • Regular scheduling of volunteer meetings and responding to questions from volunteers and staff.
  • Processing large mailings, proofreading/editing, word processing, and other administrative work.
  • The assistant attends occasional events and meetings outside of the regular work schedule.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required6.
  • Administrative assistant experience, with a minimum of four+ years or equivalent background preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; team player, problem solver, and dependable.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment; detail oriented and adapt to changing technology and maintain confidentiality.
  • Physical requirements include keyboarding, sitting for long periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Required technical skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Preferred software skills: PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher; advanced keyboarding and layout skills are needed, with a speed of at least 50 words per minute.
