Join AFP Minnesota for our next virtual IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Breakfast Series. This series invites nonprofit leaders of color to share stories of leadership, fundraising, and how they navigate the sector as a person of color. In this session, panelists will share their journeys to nonprofit leadership, their experience within the nonprofit landscape as leaders of color, and how to build a sector that is supportive of professionals of color.

The IDEA Series is specifically designed to benefit current and aspiring fundraisers of color; however the series is open to anyone interested in participating and learning from this conversation.

Speakers:
Michelle Edgerton is an experienced fundraising professional with over 15 years of proven success in fund development and executive leadership. She is a creative project manager with unique problem-solving abilities and outstanding communication skills. She has demonstrated impeccable effectiveness in community resource development and team building with a strong commitment to excellence. She is personally committed to the advancement of all people.

Rinal Ray, an experienced professional with a background in public policy and law, joined People Serving People in 2017 as Director of Systems Change and Community Engagement. In January 2019 Rinal was promoted to Associate Executive Director. In August, she assumed the interim role of Executive Director.

Since serving as Interim Executive Director, Ms. Ray has managed the organization’s operations in close collaboration with the leadership team, staff, and key partners. Ms. Ray has a strong track record of success in driving positive systemic change for our communities, and the Board of Directors is confident in her ability to lead the organization. Ray, the first woman of color to lead the organization in the CEO role, will also serve on the Board of Directors.

Pahoua Yang Hoffman (she/her/hers) serves as senior vice president of Community Impact. In her role, she serves as chief strategist for grantmaking and community impact at the Foundation. In addition to managing relationships with the organization’s two client foundations, the F.R. Bigelow Foundation and Mardag Foundation, she also assists the Foundation in areas of public policy and community engagement, and advises the CEO on statewide strategic leadership.

Duchesne Drew leads strategy, programming and daily operations serving MPR’s growing regional audiences through MPR News, Classical MPR, The Current and MPR’s rapidly expanding digital, social and mobile services.
