Job Title: Corporate and Foundations Relationship Manager
Department: Development and Communications
Reports to: Development and Communications Director
Hours: Exempt Position, Full-time

Summary: As a key member of the Development team, the Corporate and Foundations Relationship Manager (CFRM) is responsible for managing and leading a corporate partnership program which yields an increase in engagement and activity for sponsorship funding, corporate relationships, and grant funding.

Primary Responsibilities:
Grant Management

  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate and community sources.
  • Conduct prospect research to evaluate prospects for corporate, foundation, and community grants to grow funders every year.
  • Comply with all grants requirements as required by funders, including all reporting and follow-up requests.
  • Provide grant writing, report writing and other assistance to program staff for government grants.
  • Work with program, financial and administrative staff to gather information necessary to complete proposals and reports for funders on current and future grant opportunities. 


Sponsorship funding

  • Be the primary contact with all funders to facilitate proposals, site visits, reports, and all other funding related items.
  • Develop and execute organization-wide corporate sponsorship program to engage sponsors in events, room sponsorship and emerging opportunities.
  • Works with director of development to present options to program staff for aligning mission-driven projects with funders' guidelines.
  • Facilitate all steps from prospecting to invoicing in alignment with Development Committee, and GMCN leadership.


Corporate Engagement

  • Steward the relationships with existing corporate & foundation partners, including: providing regular written updates (annual reports, newsletters, etc.), tours, invitations to special events, etc.
  • Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
  • Work with Volunteer Manager to create and connect corporate groups to volunteer opportunities such as group volunteer efforts at the Nursery and offsite at corporate partner’s request.


Additional

  • Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
  • Support the Nursery’s mission and vision through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: 5+ years of experience developing proposals and reports for institutional funders, including government entities. Experience working in deadline-driven environments a must. Experience managing a robust grants program and corporate sponsorships is preferred.

Abilities: Able to meet deadlines, manage workload, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Has the ability to monitor and meet revenue goals, and work in a team environment.

Knowledge: Knowledge of all components of proposals and reports for institutional and government funders. Familiarity with the major local, regional and national funders and their processes. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for prospect research.

Skills: Exceptional written communication skills including the ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals. Attention to detail and strong editing skills. Demonstrates the ability to learn new skills and acquire knowledge in the areas related to the work of GMCN.
