Open Admissions Philosophy

Animal Humane Society accepts every animal that comes to us, and there is no time limit placed on the animals in our adoption centers. As long as an animal remains in good health and temperament, it is available until it is adopted. However, we also have a commitment to placing only healthy, treatable, and safe animals in the community. When the difficult decision is made to end an animal’s life for untreatable aggression or unmanageable illness, we provide them with a dignified end to life with humane euthanasia by compassion injection.
