At Ridgewater College, the Foundation Assistant Director plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Ridgewater College Foundation by supporting and assisting the Vice President for Advancement & Outreach/Foundation Executive Director (VPAO) in the areas of fundraising, resource development, donor relations, stewardship, marketing, and data analysis.

It’s a role that allows you to be innovative while making an impact and helping students find their futures. You’ll also help donors connect their philanthropic interests to opportunities to help others. 

This position works directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and fully supports the College’s commitment to equity and inclusion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating annual friend-raising, community engagement, fundraising and stewardship activities and initiatives
  • Creating and implementing fundraising and communication strategies to increase participation and giving by different constituencies (such as employees, retirees, alumni, etc.)
  • Coordinating the grants process for the Foundation and college
  • Developing and carrying out a comprehensive stewardship and donor recognition plan
  • Developing promotional materials which build awareness and strengthen the brand of the Foundation and college
  • Developing and maintaining policy and procedure documentation with respect to fundraising, gift acceptance, grants, donor recognition, etc.
  • Managing the Foundation’s website, social media and online giving platform(s)
  • Performing research and data analysis to assist in identification of donor prospects for cultivation and to determine effectiveness of outreach and solicitation strategies
  • Facilitating board member recruitment, orientation and engagement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year degree in related field (such as business, marketing, sales, public relations, etc)
  • Two years of relevant and progressively responsible work experience in a related field
  • Proven verbal, interpersonal and networking skills with ability to develop strong collaborative relationships and deal effectively and sensitively with a variety of constituents
  • Ability to compose high-quality and effective written communications, correspondence, reports, presentations and other documents with meticulous attention to detail
  • High level of competency with computer software products such as Microsoft Excel, Word, CSV files and other programs that may be used for creating reports, and creating or merging records for reports, mailing and sharing information between databases
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects efficiently while achieving overall goals
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education, preferably at a 2-year community or technical college
  • Demonstrated success in soliciting and renewing contributions by articulating a compelling case for support through use of multiple communication tools
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or other similar database software
  • Experience managing online giving and social media platforms
  • Skills in research and data analysis sufficient to track giving data and trends
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
