Bush Foundation Community Trust Fund
"Entrusting philanthropy to the community"
In 2021, the Bush Foundation committed $100 million to seed two community trust funds that will address wealth disparities by investing in Black and Native communities in the Foundation’s region. This initiative was designed to give grants directly to individuals so that they can begin the cycle of building generational wealth.
Two community organizations – NDN Collective and Nexus Community Partners, were selected as stewards for the community trust funds for Native American and Black communities, respectively. In 2023, both stewards launched beautifully authentic and innovative grant programs and will disperse $50M each to individuals over the next several years.
