Hallie Q. Brown Community Center’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our community by providing access to critical human services, fostering and promoting growth, and developing community leadership. We are currently seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development who will manage and execute all philanthropic programs, communications, and fundraising efforts. The position will develop and execute a comprehensive fund development strategy to sustain and grow revenues from all constituents including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development and Fundraising:
Act as member of the leadership team to advance the mission, vision, and short and long-term goals of Hallie Q. Brown.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Associate Director to develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy.
Engage programs and departments in fundraising to enhance the culture of philanthropy across the organization.
Serve as an expert resource on fundraising for the organization’s staff and strategic partners.
Serve as an exemplary advocate for Hallie Q. Brown in the community, with local leaders, religious organizations, business and corporate partnerships, and other leaders, and build relationships that closely link the community with the organization.
Keep up to date on current fundraising, marketing and public relations programs, practices, and procedures in the nonprofit sector; ensure the Development Department operates in a manner consistent with all relevant standards.
Solicit donations, establish new contacts for development, and maintain relationships with current donors to ensure continued support.
Develop recommendations for prospective grants, individual donations, and strategic partnerships for delegation to direct reports.
Develop recommendations for annual fundraising and partnership goals.
Establish new partnerships for the growth of resource development.
Create development strategy to solicit and maintain donors primarily at the Corporate and Foundation level; meet a specified budget of secured funds to be communicated annually.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage employee and team performance, including training, communicating job expectations, coaching employees, supporting professional development aspirations, and investigating performance concerns as needed.
Manage the hiring process for positions within team, including developing job descriptions, conducting interviews and creating selection committees when needed.
Manage and ensure effective employee relations to create an ethical, inclusive, non-discriminatory, and safe work environment.
Establish and maintain effective communication lines/methods to ensure open team communication.
Process personnel changes, resignations, terminations, and execution of layoffs in partnership with HR Consultant.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or demonstrably equivalent knowledge gained through alternative courses of study and life experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a development role.
Interest in the human services nonprofit sector required; experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Rondo community knowledge desired.
Understanding of target audiences and key messaging.
Exceptional project management and administrative support skills.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
Social media savvy.
Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours to support events.
Ability to think strategically to regularly anticipate and solve problems.
Willingness to learn a variety of tasks; possession of excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of nonprofit practices, a serious work ethic, and a desire to work in a team-orientated environment.
Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
Skilled in conflict management.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to travel to sites within 15-mile radius of the office.

Knowledge and experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations in many different socio-economic conditions.

Licenses and/or Certifications:
Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Hallie Q. Brown’s driving record requirements.
