Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000

Job Summary
The Director of Development and Fundraising manages the daily activities of the development program and is responsible for donor development and retention, building strong partnerships and cultivating donors, driving community engagement, increasing the visibility of the organization, and raising funds. This includes identifying appropriate grant opportunities, as well as writing grant applications. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, excellent at public speaking, driven, results-oriented, and personable.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a deep working knowledge of Goodwill’s mission and community impact.
Oversee, plan, and execute fundraising initiatives to achieve revenue goals.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors, financial partners, and other prospects (individuals, corporations, and/or foundations) to support financial sustainability and growth objectives.
Maintain a database of donors, execute prompt acknowledgement of donations, and provide high-quality reporting on the impact of donor gifts.
Assist with organization and execution of external events and activities to attract interest and increase visibility of mission.
Assist with research and writing grants to support mission programs.
Work with finance and program teams to ensure systems for timely compliance reporting on grants.
Develop and implement an organization gift acceptance policy.
Develop and implement a fundraising plan for the organization.

Required Skills and Abilities
Advanced PC skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Donor database experience.
Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote and support the Goodwill mission.
Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated and confident.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.
Confident public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.


Education and Experience
B.A./B.S. preferred.
Two – five years professional development and fund raising experience.

Physical Requirements
These work environment factors are general in nature: CONSTANT: Sit and near vision. FREQUENT: Bend neck; talk/speak; sit and visual accommodation. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; rotate neck, static neck position; walk; hear within 5 feet and midrange vision.
