Job Summary
The Development Director is a key leadership position responsible for planning, implementing, and managing fundraising and development strategies to support Franklin Center's mission and goals. This role is critical for the overall success of Franklin Center. As a growing organization with limited awareness, Franklin Center is looking for a dynamic Development Director that can open doors to new donor streams including individual, corporate, and family foundations, and potentially state funding. We are looking for someone with a proven track record for cultivating new donors, growing grant funding, and creating new opportunities to build awareness of our mission.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual and institutional donors, including major donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Research and write grant proposals, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and deadlines.
Implement donor stewardship strategies to nurture and maintain relationships with existing donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
Plan and execute fundraising events, such as galas, auctions, and donor cultivation events.
Develop and manage the development department's budget, monitor fundraising goals, and prepare financial reports.
Work closely with the board of directors, providing support in fundraising activities, engaging board members in donor cultivation, and reporting on progress and outcomes.
Lead and manage a team of development staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop and implement effective strategies to promote the organization's fundraising initiatives and maintain consistent messaging.
Track and analyze fundraising data, generate reports on fundraising progress, and make recommendations for improvement.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or communications is typically required.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or related roles, with a track record of success in securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices, as well as knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate the organization's mission and fundraising goals to a variety of audiences.
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, board members, staff, and other stakeholders.
Proven leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to lead a team, collaborate with colleagues, and engage board members and donors.
Ability to think strategically, develop long-term plans, and adapt fundraising strategies to changing circumstances and donor preferences.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A commitment to ethical fundraising practices and adherence to relevant regulations and professional standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
