Position Overview:
Blake’s Institutional Advancement Team is a supportive, innovative office looking for a positive, energetic individual to join the team. The Advancement Officer provides a high level of service for current donors, prospects and internal partners. Collaborating with Annual Giving, Alumni and Parent Engagement and Events staff, the Advancement Officer is a creative thinker who works to plan and execute cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities that educate and inspire our parent/guardian, grandparent, alum, staff, student and community donors through their annual giving and school engagement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • The Advancement Officer will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving to support all aspects of Blake’s annual fund. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Writing fresh, relevant content for digital avenues and social media channels.
  • Creating email appeals through Veracross, Blake’s relationship management system.
  • Soliciting and thanking donors through direct communication including in-person visits, calling, and writing.
  • Supporting annual fund ambassador groups, seasonal employees and volunteers whose role is to educate constituents within our school community about the Blake Fund and encourage participation.
  • Managing third party sites including crowd-funding campaigns and giving forms through GiveCampus, and matching gifts through Double the Donation.
  • Managing data reporting and analysis of solicitation and engagement strategies on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to track outcomes and successes. 


The Advancement Officer will provide team support in other areas of Institutional Advancement, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement and the Special Events Manager to write digital content with the purpose of increasing engagement in school events for current families, alumni, grandparents and other constituents.
  • Writing bi-monthly Class Representative email copy for the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement.
  • Updating content on Blake Connect, Blake’s alumni web portal.
  • Participating as an active member of the Advancement team, including supporting events, being an ambassador on our campuses and performing other related duties. 


Minimum Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1-3 years of work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to convey strategic messaging to a variety of constituencies through written and verbal communication
  • Track record of working collaboratively in a team environment, and across departments
  • Experience managing concurrent tasks, setting priorities and following through on both long-term and short-term projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure, respond to last-minute requests and display a willingness to acquire new skills and take on new projects
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, and Google suite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and good judgment while taking initiative


Preferred:

  • Prior knowledge and experience in development for a school or nonprofit organization
  • Knowledge of and comfort with online and social media platforms
  • Familiarity with development/advancement database system(s)


Pay Range: $54,080 to $58,240 depending on qualifications
