Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Your Role:
The Development Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring data accuracy and providing prospect research and relationship management support to MPR/APM leadership, Major, Planned, Mid-Level, and Institutional development officers.

Expected Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000/yr. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, geographic location and internal equity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain Salesforce data for Mid-level and Major Giving Officer assignments.
  • Present newly identified prospects to appropriate fundraisers.
  • Synthesize and present information relevant to financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and linkages to existing MPR/APM products or strategic initiatives.
  • Create profiles as requested for Governance Committee, fundraisers, and senior leaders.
  • Support event planning and follow-up, including identification of invitees using available data, and generating event attendee reports for internal customers.
  • Create and update Salesforce process documentation for Philanthropic Development team.
  • Assist in Salesforce training and serve as a resource for Philanthropic Development team members, specific to their job duties.
  • Serve as NPSP Power User.
  • Build reports and dashboards to assist staff in managing portfolios and activities pertinent to development and work with Donor Relations Manager to develop new system tools, fields, and data points.
  • Work with Audience Insights team to develop reporting and dashboards for Mid-level, Major & Planned Giving, and Institutional Giving teams in Salesforce NPSP and/or Power BI.
  • Leverage internal information, external repositories, and subscription databases including iWave, RelSci, and Thomson Reuters on an ongoing and special project basis. Add relevant acquired information into the donor database to aid in the understanding of constituents and development of cultivation strategies.
  • Collaborate and consult with diverse organizational contacts including senior leadership, development officers, program staff, and others on matters related to portfolio management and solicitation strategies.
  • Adhere to ethics and privacy standards per APRA Code of Ethics and the AFP Donor Bill of Rights. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Experience working with relevant CRM systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical skills; strong oral and written communication skills; data visualization aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to utilize electronic and hard copy sources to conduct research. 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack & Power BI reporting. \
  • Awareness of APRA Skill Sets and Body of Knowledge; ability to use them to achieve higher performance.
  • Familiarity with established industry resources such as Lexis-Nexis, Wealth Engine and Guidestar.
  • Positive approach and can-do attitude.
