ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Flourish Placemaking Collective (FPC) is a community-centered development and consulting group committed to supporting the transformation of space to deepen community well-being, access, and equity for everyone within the community. The core aim of this work seeks to foster Centers of Belonging from existing, essential, and underutilized properties.

FPC is the outgrowth of Ace in the City which provided a variety of youth and family programming, including after school literacy support and food security initiatives, between 2008 – 2022. As FPC emerges into the community development and consulting space, it intends to direct its near-term efforts toward helping collaborators reimagine, redesign, and retool existing structures in the community, with a focus on those that have or still support organized church institutions.

Center the practice of deep listening to drive redevelopment of existing community spaces, that redefine Centers of Belonging, through collaboration and partnership for the purpose of animating justice and love in community.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Manager (DM) will partner closely with organization leadership to create, maintain, and operationalize an advancement plan that fuel contributed and earned income sources. This role will support several core categories of development activities including prospective funder research, donor management, grant proposal submissions and evaluation reporting, key donor event coordination, and various administrative assistance with prospective FPC clients.

The DM will also assist with the ongoing review of income reporting to assist with assessing progress against projected budgeted income. And the DM will assist the organization’s Co-Executive Directors with income estimates for budgets and reforecast projections on at least a quarterly basis. The DM will also engage in various staff, community, and prospective funder and client meetings as the needs arise.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Advancement Planning

  • Utilize multi-year organizational financial performance to identify and propose key fundraising strategies to support attainment of annual income goals.
  • Construct and maintain a development pipeline that reflects likely grant opportunities that will be pursued given perceived alignment with organization’s work.
  • Develop and activate against a donor engagement plan that recognizes existing donor contributions, deepens donor support, and attracts prospective donors.


Grant Management

  • Review grant guidelines of targeted opportunities and construct an outline of the proposal response that can be reviewed with one or both organization’s Co-Executive Directors for alignment.
  • Maintain ongoing control of time management practices to ensure grant proposals are submitted on time, as well as grant evaluation reporting as needed.
  • Ensure the development pipeline tracker is current to reflect accurate information related to each identified grant opportunity.


Meeting & Event Coordination

  • Partner with organization leadership to develop a key meeting and event strategy that supports overall advancement objectives and goals.
  • Construct project plans for key meetings and events that facilitate transparency among all staff regarding the core milestones needed to execute meetings and events, and their respective owners.
  • Assist with the execution of key meetings and events in collaboration with all staff members, as well as volunteers and contractors as needed. 


Prospective Client Administration

  • Based on direction and guidance from organization leadership, construct a suite of follow-up best practices toward prospective client partners, and assist with implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a prospective client list that contains contact information, engagement touch points and notes that can assist with ongoing and (or) future follow-up.
  • Proactively schedule and maintain meetings with staff, volunteers, and contractors that support the advancement of prospective client partners.


DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A core belief in and practice of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Min. of 3 years’ experience in supporting nonprofit fundraising activities.
  • Min. of 3 years’ experience writing grants that led to multiple grant awards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to partner collaboratively and work autonomously.
  • Self-motivated, organized, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with various software, including, Google Workspace, MS Office, etc.
  • Comfortable navigating back-end website platforms to support content and design updates.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • This is a regular part-time employee opportunity to fulfill 24 hours per week within a flex schedule.
  • Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour based on relevant experience.
