Developmentteam as aDevelopment Operations and Digital Specialist!

The Development Operations and Digital Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of database and digital projects for the Development team. Reporting to the Development Operations and Database Manager, this person will support the management and maintenance of the Development team database of record, Raisers Edge NXT, assuring high standards of quality, consistency and accuracy of donor and gift information, and business practice workflow and system optimization within RENXT. The Development Operations and Digital Specialist also supports fundraising operations, including the creation and maintenance of standard and ad-hoc reports, queries and mailing lists. In addition, this role is also responsible for building and sending Development team emails in Luminate Online.

Starting Pay Rate: $50,000 - $60,000 USD annually / Dependent on Qualifications and Experience.

Work Schedule:

  • Full time / Monday through Friday – 8:00am – 4:30pm (can be flexible) / no weekends!
  • Hybrid work schedule! 


Duties and Responsibilities:
Database Coordination

  • Works closely with the Development Operations and Database Manager to ensure fundraising data integrity and effective reporting by supporting the maintenance of donor and gift records in RENXT, performing regular data clean up, and conducting long-term data health projects.
  • Conduct database projects resulting from special fundraising campaigns across the development department.
  • Support process creation and improvement to support data entry, moves management, and forecasting.
  • Assist with developing and documenting business practices to continually improve donor/database management processes and to accommodate increasing numbers of donors.
  • Serve as resource person, trainer, and source of user support for RENXT users in the Development department, ensuring staff can efficiently and effectively use database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Development Operations and Database Manager to meet SHH goals and objectives. 


Fundraising Operations Support

  • Support donor acquisition and cultivation activities by providing data files including mailing lists, suppression files, and results information.  
  • Create appropriate donor lists and advise on criteria for lists, based on requests from the Development department and others, to ensure appropriate mailing of appeals, newsletters, invitations, and reports.
  • Collaborate on additional data queries and requests as needed.
  • Analyze and report campaign results as requested, including donor portfolio and pipeline reports and demographic profiles that will improve future campaigns.
  • Support event data needs. Work closely with Community Engagement team for accurate event processing.
  • Assist with development, promotion, and maintenance of specific donor recognition programs through data and reporting support.
  • Serve as backup for gift entry and donor relations team as needed. 


Email and Digital Production

  • Build and send emails within Luminate Online, in coordination with other internal teams.
  • Lead the production, testing, and delivery of Development team email campaigns.
  • Support reporting of email campaign performance and overall effectiveness against goals.
  • Work closely with internal partners to build and maintain audience lists.
  • Build operational excellence for email production, sending, opt-out, preferences, and content and asset management.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to align email delivery with other digital marketing efforts across the organization. 


Must Have:

  • Previous development department and/or digital marketing experience, with an understanding of databases, confidence with running reports, and strong data analytics skills.
  • Experience with customer relationship management program strongly desired (RENXT and Luminate Online preferred). 3-4 years of nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Experience in email production, email marketing automation and deployment, specifically in working with Luminate Online (preferred), MailChimp, Constant Contact, or another email delivery platform.
  • Experience building webpages, blog posts, digital forms, and other digital content using HTML/CSS within a content management system.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and valued.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Office 365, and the ability to learn other computer software programs.
  • Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and enthusiasm, both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and follow through on multiple daily tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain database integrity.
