Salary Range: $73,652 - $110,468

The Sustaining Gifts Officer is responsible for advancing the mission of CentraCare and the CentraCare Foundation by leading a comprehensive, ongoing, sustaining, and online gifts program to increase the philanthropic commitment of physicians, employees, grateful patients, and family members in the CentraCare service area. This leadership position will develop and implement strategic priorities for all sustaining gift campaigns and efforts. Develops strong relationships with donors at all levels; must develop a strong working relationship with senior leadership, medical staff, and volunteers. This role reports to the Director of Foundation Operations and works with the Gift Processing Analyst to ensure success.

Fundraising (70%)

  • Lead a community campaign engaging community philanthropists, business owners and thoughtful leaders.
  • Lead all development activities associated with the annual Employee and Physician Campaign, including:
  • Lead and serve as staff to Employee & Physician campaign cabinet which is comprised of key CentraCare leadership.
  • Expand the 30/60/90 brand and philosophy of giving across all CentraCare entities.
  • Maintain ambassador reporting tools and EC online giving site in support of the sustaining appeal.
  • Lead all development activities associated with midlevel, sustaining, and online giving for CentraCare including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective donors at the sustaining giving level ($1-$5,000 annually).
  • Lead and manage all development activities associated with online giving using Classy or similar online giving portals.
  • Set and achieve annual goals for sustaining giving.
  • Manage a portfolio of sustaining giving relationships ($2,500-$5,000 annual range).
  • Leverage the established cases for philanthropic support appropriate for one-to-many donor audiences.
  • Work with a variety of internal resources, vendors and subcontractors on the creative development and implementation of the sustaining giving appeals, including monthly Grateful
  • Patient emails and letters.
  • In conjunction with the Foundation team provide appropriate recognition and appreciation for all sustaining gifts received. Coordinate sustaining giving societies where appropriate.
  • Maintain meticulous records of activities and produce reports. Uses organizational benchmarks and historical data to set and track fund fundraising goals each year.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of financial/fundraising revenue with accounting department and database management.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Communications (20%)

  • Market giving opportunities through social media, online methods and other communications as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain a social media strategy for the Foundation and update the website regularly.
  • Consults with marketing staff and vendors to develop and design cost-effective appeals.
  • Provide presentations to community-based groups and organizations for the purpose of information sharing and identification of donors.


Volunteer Management (10%)

  • Identify, network, and recruit additional volunteers to increase sustaining giving. Provide training and oversight to these volunteers.
  • Develop materials and implement sustaining training for the 300+ employee campaign volunteer ambassadors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as fundraising, marketing, communications, business, or public relations.
  • 3-5 years of related development office or marketing experience.
  • Strong creative writing skills required.
  • Excellent project management and strategic planning skills, with an acute ability to manage multiple deadlines and track activities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including relationship building and strong in-person, phone, and email communication with various internal and external constituents.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and resourceful individual with the willingness to accept responsibility and be accountable for results in a role that is demanding and requires a high level of energy, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work cooperatively to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
  • Knowledge and skills using Salesforce or another donor database or CRM.
  • Direct health care fundraising experience.
  • Experience with e-philanthropy and e-mail communication using email platforms such as EMMA.
