Summary
Working within a collaborative office environment and is responsible for strategic oversight, building, planning, and implementing major fundraising programs for donors and alumni and creating alumni engagement initiatives designed to foster lifelong connections between alumni and Maranatha Christian Academy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works with program staff to develop projects.
- Staff and organize activities relating to fundraising activities.
- Build an alumni relations program, manage groups on a day-to-day basis, produce inclusive alumni events (on and off-campus), provide support and guidance to a portfolio of alumni groups, and implement an annual giving campaign among alumni.
- Develops and executes comprehensive plans and programs, both short and long-range, to support the fundraising objectives of the organization.
- Monitor demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effect of competitive activity.
- Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Provide strategic oversight and overall leadership, set the direction for alumni engagement and inclusion, including long-term planning.
- Identify and research annual gift prospects, communicating regularly with the development director and the head of school to ensure coordination and knowledge of key donors and prospects.
- In coordination with the development director, inform recognition, reporting, and stewardship strategy that assists in developing a robust annual base of support for the school and creates a pipeline for major gifts.
- Generally, performs administrative functions directly related to this position and the school.
- Launches the Alumni Engagement Program at MCA by reaching out to alumni, gathering contact information, and encouraging alumni to re-engage with the school.
- Works with the Development Director to frame the alumni experience and establish annual program priorities.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate annual alumni engagement initiatives collaboratively with the Development Director, Parent Council, and Chief Advancement Director, coordinating with Athletics, Admissions, and other MCA departments to build affinity, stimulate engagement, and grow support for the school.
- Lead prayer and devotions, and administers communion on a rotating basis.
- Works with the development director to develop new programming.
- Availability to host after-workday events and activities for alumni.
- Coordinates with advancement colleagues and campus partners to provide infrastructure, support, and guidance for alumni groups.
- Serves as staff liaison to MCA’s alumni groups by organizing meetings and conference calls, activities, events, and logistics.
- Responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating vibrant Alumni gatherings with the event director.
- Support the development of a “Young Alumni” program and other programming designed to engage recent graduates from MCA.
- Implement a cohesive communication plan with alumni in coordination with the communications officer.
- Work with the development director to fully integrate all alumni engagement, annual giving, and efforts with development.
