Job Title: Annual Campaign Officer

The Annual Campaign Officer is responsible for executing a yearly comprehensive fundraising plan. They are responsible for all fundraising and donor development activities and overall donor management and stewardship. They have primary managerial responsibility over the Development Department and the Donor Management System.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Fundraising Leadership

  • Lead the development team in executing effective and innovative fundraising activities and programs to include, among others, annual and designated giving
  • Oversee major gifts program as well as develop a pipeline to develop new major donors
  • Work closely with the CEO to strategize individual plans for major donors regarding solicitation and stewardship.
  • Work with the CEO to develop fundraising goals and objectives and report regularly to the CEO and lay leadership as to the progress towards those goals
  • Manage affinity groups with an eye towards how to help engage members within a given group to leverage engagement

Donor Relations and Engagement

  • Responsible for understanding not only the community at large, but individuals with giving capacity and to help cultivate relationships with them where their interests and the Federation’s ability to help further those interests align
  • Ability to have meaningful dialogues with current or potential donors about the work of the Federation and the overall needs we seek funding for

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the development team to achieve fundraising targets - including Development Associate and Development Administrator
  • Provide professional development opportunities and guidance to team members


  • Identify and implement data structures within the Donor Management System to enable segmentation and reporting
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and gain expertise in the Donor Management System (Virtuous)
  • Help build and manage the budget for the Development Department
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4+ years as a professional fundraiser with knowledge of industry trends and approaches

  • Knowledge of budgets and how to manage them
  • Strong passion for philanthropy and an understanding of social impact
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Workplace Expectations:

  • Participate in regular staff and committee meetings
  • Must be able to travel regularly to meet donors or attend meetings
  • Many meetings are in the evenings that need to be attended
  • Some travel is likely
  • Access to personal transportation
  • Occasional physical work includes lifting, carrying, and walking

Salary Range

  • $81,000-$85,000/year
