Tubman is seeking a full-time Individual Giving Manager to join a collaborative resource development team. The Individual Giving Manager plays a critical role in advancing Tubman's mission by developing and executing a comprehensive individual giving program that drives sustainable revenue growth. This position manages the full lifecycle of individual donor engagement—from strategy and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship—with responsibility for annual fund campaigns, mid-level giving, and pipeline development for major gifts. The Individual Giving Manager will oversee annual fundraising campaigns and monthly giving programs and manage a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects.
This position offers flexibility and requires both remote and in-office work, based at Tubman’s Chrysalis Center in south Minneapolis. This position’s typical schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends required. This position typically will travel through the Twin Cities Metro including Tubman locations. Role Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Program Management
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a multi-year strategy to grow individual giving revenue, including annual fund, mid-level, and major gifts
- Establish clear fundraising goals, performance metrics, and donor engagement plans in collaboration with leadership
- Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital appeals, peer-to-peer fundraising, and special initiatives (year-end, HOPEtober, monthly giving)
- Implement strategies to identify and cultivate mid-level donors, creating a sustainable pipeline for major gifts
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Stay informed of trends and best practices in annual giving and donor engagement
Donor Cultivation & Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects
- Conduct regular donor meetings and outreach, developing customized cultivation and solicitation strategies for each prospect
- Make direct solicitations and partner with the CEO, Director of Development, board members, and key volunteers to cultivate and solicit major gift prospects
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and reports tailored to donor interests and giving capacity
- Provide personalized stewardship outreach to any donor who makes a gift of $1,000 or more in collaboration with the Director of Development and the CEO
- Acknowledge supporters within the stewardship and recognition process, ensuring timely and meaningful engagement
- Oversee the execution of donor recognition plans that deepen engagement and demonstrate impact
- Utilize donor data and insights to personalize engagement strategies and segment donors effectively
Board & Volunteer Engagement
- Work with the Resource Development Committee and board members to identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors
- Manage the annual board giving cycle in partnership with the Director of Development and the Resource Development Committee chair
- Provide board training and tools to strengthen their role in fundraising, with the intent of building a major giving pipeline through peer-to-peer outreach
- Assist board members and other staff with their solicitations and relationship-building efforts
- Create presentation materials and reports for the leadership team and the resource development committee as needed
Collaboration & Integration
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent and compelling donor messaging across channels
- Partner with program staff to communicate impact and align donor interests with organizational priorities
- Work closely with the development team to ensure accurate donor records, reporting, and data management in CRM/fundraising database
- Coordinate with other development team members to support donor pipeline development and integrated fundraising strategies
- Foster a collaborative culture within the development team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with donors, colleagues, and volunteers
Job Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and lived experience
- 3+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated knowledge in individual giving, annual fund management, or donor relations
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse donors and stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling solicitation and stewardship materials
- Experience with data-driven decision making and ability to track, analyze, and report on fundraising metrics
- Proficiency with CRM/fundraising database systems; Raiser's Edge experience ideal
- Commitment to Tubman's mission and ability to work within a domestic violence organization where vicarious trauma is possible
- Understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
Preferred:
- CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) or willingness to pursue certification
- Experience in social services, domestic violence, or mission-driven nonprofit organizations
- Knowledge of planned giving and major gift fundraising principles
- Experience in training and supporting board members in fundraising activities
- Familiarity with integrated marketing and digital fundraising strategies
Compensation & Benefits
The targeted hiring salary range for this position is $68,000 - $73,000 annually, dependent upon experience.
