Holy Name of Jesus is one of the largest and fastest-growing Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Our parish is home to more than 2,700 families and a PreK–6 Catholic school serving nearly 500 students.
Guided by our mission to know Jesus, live in Jesus with His Church, and share Jesus with others, we are seeking an experienced Director of Development to partner with parish leadership in building a comprehensive stewardship and fundraising program that will strengthen our mission for years to come. This individual will cultivate meaningful relationships, inspire a culture of stewardship, and lead fundraising initiatives that support the long-term mission and ministries of Holy Name of Jesus. Working closely with the Pastor and parish leadership, the Director of Development will also play a key leadership role in planning and supporting the parish's upcoming major capital campaign, helping secure the resources needed to advance our vision for the future.
What You'll Do
As Director of Development, you will:
- Develop and lead a comprehensive stewardship and fundraising program.
- Build meaningful relationships with parishioners, donors, volunteers, alumni, foundations, and community leaders.
- Foster a culture of stewardship by encouraging parishioners to share their God-given gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
- Partner with the Pastor and parish leadership to establish fundraising priorities and strategies.
- Lead the annual stewardship campaign and help coordinate the parish's upcoming capital campaign.
- Cultivate major gifts, planned giving opportunities, endowment growth, and legacy gifts.
- Recruit, support, and collaborate with the Parish Stewardship Committee.
- Maintain donor records, fundraising metrics, reports, and timely gift acknowledgments.
- Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to share compelling stories demonstrating the impact of donor generosity.
- Support school fundraising initiatives, including the annual gala, and serve as liaison for grant opportunities and foundations.
Qualifications
- Be a practicing Catholic who understands, supports, and embraces the teachings and doctrine of the Catholic Church.
- Hold a bachelor's degree.
- Have at least three years of experience in fundraising, development, advancement, or a related field.
- Demonstrate success in building authentic relationships with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
- Possess excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
- Successfully complete a mandatory background check.

Compensation & Benefits
Holy Name of Jesus offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Salary: $80,000–$85,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position. While most work is performed during regular business hours, occasional evenings and weekends are required to attend parish events, donor meetings, liturgies, and fundraising activities.
