The Individual and Planned Giving Director role is responsible for ensuring a strategic, donor centric approach to prospecting, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual donors so that major and planned giving is increased over time. This position develops and oversees the Ecumen Honor Fund and supports major and mid-level giving for the Ecumen Annual Giving Fund.      

Essential job responsibilities:
Create and implement a comprehensive planned giving program and oversee the Ecumen Honor Fund for all Ecumen communities including annual appeals, marketing, cultivation events, donor proposals and planned and major giving budget management.     

Lead as subject matter expert on vehicles for planned giving and build relationships with local financial advisors and legal representatives to make recommendations for Ecumen donors exploring giving options that adhere to Ecumen gift acceptance policies.   

Partner with Vice President - Philanthropy on leadership giving strategies, annual solicitations, donor visits and stewardship.     

Serve as a liaison for Ecumen communities with specific deliverables related to major gift and planned gift prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, stewarding and managing a major and loyal donor portfolio of 100+ donors.     

Manage metrics dashboard, donor research and profiles along with moves management tracking for major and planned giving to include gift proposals, gift expectancies, and gifts received.     

Other duties as assigned.    

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree     

Relevant Experience:  
8 years of related experience in the areas of marketing, communications, sales and/or charitable/individual giving.

Proven experience with program design, implementation & evaluation

Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building ability

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including communicating through multiple platforms (digital, social media and personal presentations)

Experience managing staff and contractors

Experience working with major or planned gifts     

Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance

Proficiency with Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Blackbaud/Raisers Edge software
Event planning experience
Healthcare experience
