Donor Relations Manager - Job OpeningThe Donor Relations Manager is a new position and is an integral part of the Advancement and Communications team. The Donor Relations Manager will be responsible for fundraising activities that generate $1M annually in private support with individual donors. The primary responsibility of this position is managing donor relationships through prospecting, identifying, soliciting, and stewardship of a robust constituent donor base. This position calls for a fundraising professional who has extensive experience engaging with donors, and a successful track record securing philanthropic revenue.
The Donor Relations Manager will activity work with a portfolio of 200 individual donors with a focus on gifts of $1,000 or more. This involves prospect research and developing effective solicitation strategies as well as cultivating donors throughout the giving process. This position will also have responsibilities securing event sponsorship and building donor relations with businesses, faith organizations, and volunteers.
The role requires one to be organized and flexible within a fast paced, ever-changing environment. This position will require someone who is well-organized and focused with an ability to communicate and build relationships with many constituents and solicit.
This role will be supervised by the Director of Advancement and Communications and will work closely with five team members including the Advancement Operations Manager, Advancement and Private Grants Manager, Content and Communications Specialist, and Advancement and Communications Coordinator. The team is responsible for acquiring resources and building capacity to advance Simpson Housing Services’ mission to house, support, and advocate for people experiencing homelessness.
This position will be a part of the agency’s leadership team and interact with the Executive Director and Director of Volunteer Engagement.
Currently, Simpson Housing Services offers remote working accommodations and access to a temporary workplace while the SHS administrative office is under construction. The team will return to a hybrid work environment in early 2022 with a flexible schedule. SHS requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. SHS follows established protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Hours for this position are Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 5pm. Flexible hours. Required to work evenings and weekends when needed.
