VISION FOR POSITIONThe Advancement Director will be a highly-organized, self-directed person who leads the Advancement team to grow philanthropic revenue and realize the mission of Prodeo Academy.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIESFund Development
- Develop an annual Advancement Strategic Plan and set fundraising goals and priorities.
- Lead cultivation and stewardship of current donors.
- Strategize on and implement efforts to discover and secure new resources.
- Develop a strategy to strengthen the “Friends of Prodeo” community by creating a robust distribution list, engagement opportunities, and frequent communications to key stakeholders.
- Manage a (currently-part-time-contract) Grant Writer in the development and implementation of an annual grants plan
- Manage a to-be-hired part-time Development Associate in
- Maintaining the fundraising database
- Analyzing data to prepare reports and drive fundraising
- Managing gift acknowledgments
- Coordinate annual and special appeals to build the individual giving base
- Create donor-facing marketing/communications materials in coordination with the Communications Director
Major Gifts
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts of $5,000+
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors on an annual basis
- Create and lead qualification and cultivation opportunities to grow the prospective donor pipeline
- Partner with Co-Founder to plan and manage the leadership fundraising portfolio
- Lead, advise, and support the Board of Directors in their fundraising strategies
- Build and manage a portfolio of donors
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
- A bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, business, or other areas of transferable skills
- Preferred: Proven success with a major gifts portfolio in an education or healthcare organization, or college/university
- Demonstrated flexibility and experience in effectively solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent organization skills and consistency in meeting goals and deadlines
- Entrepreneurial outlook and commitment to Prodeo Academy’s mission
COMPENSATIONSalary for this position is $75,000-$85,000, with some flexibility depending on level of experience.
