Salary Range: $60,000 - $66,000/annual
The Development and Communications Manager partners with the Director of Advancement to strategically and effectively build organization awareness, steward impactful relationships, and enhance philanthropic support through equal efforts and attention to the successful planning and execution of small- and large-scale events, as well as thoughtful and forward-thinking content creation and community engagement of Vail Place’s presence and profile on various social media platforms, e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. The Development and Communications Manager will work closely with marketing contractors to ensure Vail Place’s brand is thoughtfully and accurately represented in all external communications.
In addition to communications duties and responsibilities, the Development and Communications Manager has lead responsibility for operational and administrative tasks related to Vail Place fundraising and donor outreach efforts, including, but not limited to: gift entry, production of donor acknowledgments, and report generation. The Development and Communications Manager will lead efforts to keep the Virtuous database updated, as well as ensure best practices for data entry, integrity, and data hygiene.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required. Master’s degree or equivalent broad-based training and successful experience in development and fundraising preferred.
- More than 3 years of relevant experience in philanthropy, nonprofit fundraising, corporate social responsibility, marketing, and/or business development required.
- Experience with development software/database management, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, social media, and web-based systems required. Experience with Virtuous strongly preferred.
- Familiar with the philanthropic community in the Greater Twin Cities Metropolitan area and/or Minnesota, and a proven track record for noteworthy results strongly preferred.
