Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a development strategy and prepare an annual development plan in consultation with the board
- Development Committee
- Serve as staff liaison and support the work of the board Development Committee
- Research funding opportunities, and share research with ULTC leadership team
- Develop and implement fundraising plans in support of ULTC programs, services and initiatives
- Plan and manage ULTC annual gala (the Unity Ball), in consultation with Gala Planning Committee
- Plan and manage development budget
- Manage funding database to provide regular assessment, analysis, reporting, and projections of development activities, income, and pledges
- Develop and manage strategies for effective donor communication
- Lead organizational communications, messaging, and storytelling across online/digital platforms, including social media, as well as standard media in support of strategic development objectives
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, finance, communications, or related field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working for a non-profit or consulting to a non-profit, preferably a Black or BIPOC organization
- Thorough knowledge of current fundraising techniques, including capital campaigns, annual funding, planned giving, and foundation relations
- Ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership ability
- Highly developed ethics, integrity, and emotional intelligence
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively individually and as a team member
- Experience successfully working on a racially diverse team and with racially, culturally and economically diverse clients and partners
