The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for driving revenue for the organization and managing its brand, as 180 Degrees seeks to maintain and grow its donor base. This position is responsible for the leadership, management, and execution of 180 Degrees’ annual giving program. This position requires a creative, collaborative, self-starter with good strategic insights, demonstrated skills executing online giving campaigns, and understanding of direct marketing principles. The position involves meeting/exceeding annual und plans, acknowledging stewarding, and growing annual fund contributions, and maintaining accurate and quality management of Salesforce donor database. The Manager will also plan and execute the quarterly donor newsletter, annual report, and other communications as needed.
Essential Competencies:
- Strong writing skills; demonstrated skill writing in different voices;
- Understanding of direct marketing principles, donor-centric communication, and marketing for fundraising; able to write emails, subject lines, fundraising appeals applying principles of fundraising
- Good visual sense; ability to guide brand development
- Demonstrated planning and execution skills; able to develop plans, use resources, execute campaigns, course-correct as needed
- Digital marketing and technology skills; can direct/execute email marketing, donor segmentation, can deploy campaigns across social media; capable of testing and evaluating new tools including Facebook ads, buffer, etc.
- Ability to perform under stress and to be flexible.
- Maintain confidentiality and understand its implications in both the workplace and the community.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required Skills
- 3 years experience executing fundraising campaigns and/or demonstrated ability to write fundraising appeals for email, direct mail, and social media
- Understanding of donor-centric communications; able to write compelling copy, headlines, and impact stories
- Skilled using data and reporting results, preferably in a fundraising environment
- Competency or emerging competency in managing technology platforms including web site, social media and third party sites.
- Skilled applying visual skills to support communications. Demonstrates skill in using photos, logos, color to enhance communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- 3 years’ experience working in a fundraising environment
- Demonstrated writing skills, preferably for fundraising
- Experience writing content for website and social media.
- Creative, collaborative, self-starter
