Fundraising Data Operations Manager

Salary Range: $106,000 - $125,000

SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Advancement Data Operations Manager to join our team.
Responsible for the efficient use of Raiser’s Edge NXT and its data by all key business areas of the Foundation by providing and implementing recommendations for systems and usage, security and upgrades, reporting solutions, and managing accuracy and data health. Hires, trains, evaluates, and proactively oversees and coaches data management team members. Works creatively to ensure appropriate staffing levels for all projects, thoughtfully designs and implements professional development plan for team members to demonstrate growth and improvement in identified areas; and assigns and directs the work related to the above-mentioned systems based on judgment relating to team members’ work priorities, work streams, and skills needed. Coordinates data projects, queries, and reports while continually evaluating effective processes and protocols for data entry, maintenance, prospect research tracking, metric reporting, and data analysis to enhance fundraising success. Conducts data analytics and utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages and oversees all aspects of the Raiser’s Edge/NXT system, containing constituent and donor data, including managing security, structure, configuration, usage, reporting, integration, ease of use, and accuracy of extracted data
  • Leads efforts to implement reports, dashboards, and other information delivery mechanisms
  • Leads weekly data team meetings to coordinate data projects, queries, and meeting advancement team data needs
  • Assesses and analyzes needs of Foundation team members and provides recommendations for IT, systems, and usage
  • Coordinates with compliance on security and privacy, and with IT department on hardware, software, and system integration
  • Approves all software upgrades with HCMC IT department. Serves as the key contact and administrator to Blackbaud to maintain Raiser's Edge and all relevant modules
  • Approves all maintenance, upgrades, and system changes with Blackbaud and other vendor modules
  • Oversees team and provides direction and coverage. Supervises temporary staff and contractors
  • Creates, maintains, organizes, and monitors work processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiencies, particularly in allocation and use of staff time
  • Assigns and directs the work related to maintaining and reporting from Raiser’s Edge, based on judgment related to team members’ work priorities, work streams, and skills needed
  • Drives continual program improvement
  • Learns and understands the scope of available resources and tools to increase capacity, utilize automation, or build institutional knowledge
  • Participates in setting Foundation information strategy goals and direction for the development of data-related functions. Maintains active project management and tracking
  • Develops and refines methods for regularly reporting on productivity, impact, and progress in the areas of data improvement, delivery, and system usage
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and proactively supervises team members
  • Thoughtfully designs and implements professional development and mentoring plans for team members to demonstrate growth
  • Provides assistance, advice, and empathetic training to colleagues in the effective use of Raiser’s Edge and other information technology and data
  • Conducts data analytics and incorporates artificial intelligence algorithms to help drive fundraising success
  • Understands data mining and prospect research techniques
  • Monitors and participates in relevant listservs, publications, and professional groups to maintain a strong knowledge of developments in the fields of Advancement Services and among industry vendors
  • Maintains relationships with current and potential vendor representatives
  • Ensures compliance with Hennepin Healthcare Foundation policies and procedures around data security, team values, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Serves as the designated data steward for the development office ensuring quality, consistency, and accuracy
  • Serves on cross-functional work groups and task forces as appointed, and performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education exposure or equivalent combination of education and experience in advancement technology, database management, report writing, or data analysis in a fundraising environment
  • 5 years database administration experience within a nonprofit environment
  • 3 years of experience supervising, directing, and coaching team members, including conducting performance reviews and implementing professional development plans
  • Experience or equivalent knowledge of working in a fundraising environment is essential
  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise CRMs and systems generally, the Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred OR An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a healthcare advancement office
  • Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly related to implementing new tools and related change management
  • Knowledge of current nonprofit fundraising including relationship management and gift and record administration
  • Prefer multiple levels of Raiser’s Edge Certification

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced working knowledge of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT database, experience with Microsoft Office Integration, and importing, exporting, integrating, and reporting on data from multiple systems or similar/related system
  • Ability to communicate effectively; exceptional and succinct writing/reporting skills are essential
  • Skilled in supervising team members, particularly engaged in technology or data delivery functions
  • Ability to train others on simple and complex processes
  • Ability to discern internal and external customers’ needs to ensure the best outcome and benefits for stakeholder teams and users
  • Skilled in analytical and visualization software such as Tableau preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and strategic planning capabilities to identify potential challenges, evaluate and solve problems, and reduce risks to the organization
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams
  • Ability to work under pressure of time on frequent requests from multiple sources each having their own timelines and constraints, and with all levels of administrative team members
