Position SummaryReporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager is a member of The Friends’ development team. This position plays a critical role in planning and implementing a comprehensive annual fund program to increase donor retention, broaden the donor base, and increase the average size of donations.This is a 1.0 FTE, exempt position.QualificationsThe ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and motivated fundraising professional who is both detail- and goal-oriented. S/he/they will bring a strong process mindset and project management experience to the role and will deeply value the role and power of data in a relationship-driven fundraising team. S/he/they must demonstrate exemplary communications skills – written and interpersonal – and bring a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to the work. Interest in the evolving role and work of public libraries is imperative. A self-directed individual who can work independently toward deadlines and financial goals while also skillfully engaging others in donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship will thrive in this role. Requirements for the role include:

  • Minimum two years’ experience (with demonstrable success) in the area of direct response fundraising.
  • College degree is preferred.
  • Prior project management responsibility in a professional environment is required.
  • An interest in the principles of community centric fundraising.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, supported by the ability to use technological tools for communication.
  • Strong ability and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to manage small details while connecting them to the bigger picture.
  • Willingness to embrace learning of new skills and ideas.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and exercise independent action, while also demonstrating interest and ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Experience and desire to work with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
  • Experience handling confidential information in an appropriate, professional manner.
  • Available for occasional work events on weekends and evenings.
